Margaux approached us in 2018 to develop their newly designed ecommerce site. Their previous website had outgrown their current business and they needed to launch their new ecommerce site under 3 months. With the design ready we got to work. Along with a completely new layout, we made it easy for the internal team to edit all sections on the page, therefore they had freedom in creating new pages and products.

With over 3 years of development we've been busy with the Margaux team on enhancing their online shopping experience with multiple features.

Everyone knows how important it is to brake at the right time, but few realize how far the breaking distance is in reality. We took on a project for Sjóvá to find a way that people could visualize and experience the speed that a vehicle is at and how far the breaking distance is at that speed. The immersive experience was then held at Kringlan for a two-week period.

Universal solution for all elementary schools in Reykjavik

In 2017 the city of Reykjavik laid the foundation for a redesign of all 36 websites of the city’s elementary schools. At the beginning of 2018, Hybrid was entrusted with the task of developing and designing the universal theme for all 36 schools. The CMS was chosen by Reykjavik which was Wordpress. Wordpress was chosen because of its ease of use and familirarity within the schools themselves.

Our role was to design theme that could work within all 36 schools, but could extend its capabilities with custom features and components. The City of Reykjavík had made an assessment of what needed to be done, which was approved by representatives of the school and leisure department. In addition, we looked at data from different schools to understand what role the web should play from different users.

With a comprehensive theme like the one built for Reykjavik, all additions had to be carefully designed and developed to ensure stability on the sites.

In the beginning of 2020, Men&Mice approached us regarding a partnership to redesign and develop a new website. The company had recently undergone changes and were going to completely rebrand. The old website, which had been developed back in 2015, had seen better days.

With the help of an amazing group, both inside and outside the company, we managed to design and develope a website that not only increased conversions but also increased the quality of new leads.

We've continuously made improvements to the Men&Mice website from launch. The biggest addition was moving the documentation for their product to their website, making it easy and accessible for developers.

The stunning battle of Iceland’s only civil war

Arion Bank is one of Iceland’s largest financial institutions, providing services in the areas of retail, corporate and investment banking as well as asset management.

Recognizing the quickly evolving landscape of digital services in the finance sector, in 2016 Arion Bank set up a digital innovation accelerator within the organization focused on radically changing its approach to digital product development and delivery. The stated goals of the project were to focus on customer journeys, a more productive and reliable product delivery, reduced cost over time, and to increase revenue where applicable.

Although the website is simple in many terms we've continuously improved it based on user interactions and feedback from customers.

We used Next, as we do for most of our sites. Prismic takes care of the content management and hosting while Vercel provided the front end hosting.

1238 Battle of Iceland

University Day is a collaborative project of all seven universities in Iceland. It's designed to introduce all university studies to prospective  students and assist them in choosing their pathway. Due to Covid-19 the university day was held digitally for the first time in 2021. In order to increase access and services for prospective students, it was decided to publish an overview of all studies at the university level on the new University Day website. There is also a powerful study search engine where you can search for study names or related keywords. The website is the first of its kind in the country and has greatly increased the universities digital services to the public.

We were very pleased with the collaboration. The company worked very professionally and showed great flexibility as well as initiative in the implementation.’’

We used Next for the front end framework. A custom CMS was created to meet the specific requirements of the universities with database hosting managed by Firebase while Vercel provided the front end hosting. Due to the number of users going on the site we setup load balancers to ensure a 100% uptime.
